How Can severe Heartburn Along With Vomiting Be Treated?
Having a issue with terrible heartburn, which has been leading to vomiting,my abdomen feels blotted and there seem to be nothing that can help .i cough and hack every time I eat , getting very tired of the discomfort , what type of dr should I see ? I have had a upper scope and ultrasound and a MRI And they found nothing . Frustrating!!!!
Heartburn can lead to nausea, vomiting, bloating, persistent dry cough. A gastroenterologist would be the best person to assess you.
You may want to consider a blood test to assess for H pylori bacteria since the imaging is normal.
H pylori bacteria, if present, can worsen or cause reflux symptoms. If the bacteria is found, then you would need a 10 to 2-week course of 2 antibiotics along with reflux medication.
Consider the use of very mild foods, small portions, no fried or acidic foods along with probiotics, to see if this would help.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
